Do I need to be home for your services?
No. You do not need to be at home to have your bins cleaned. We clean your bins the day after your trash pickup day. As long as your cans are at the curb, we'll clean them at no inconvenience to you.

Why should I have my trash and recycle bins cleaned?
We not only clean your bins, but we disinfect, sanitize, and deodorize them as well. We use water temps of approximately 230° fahrenheit which rids them of 99.9% of bacteria, germs, and viruses. Additionally, we spray down the outside of the can including the parts most often touched such as the lid and handle. Our state-of-the-art system effectively reduces health hazards such as Tuberculosis, Strep, staph, E-Coli, Salmonella & Listeria.

Do you clean and sanitize both trash cans and recycle cans?
Yes. We recommend cleaning both types of bins, due to the bacteria, viruses, and germs that can build up on either type.

Can Cleaners, LLC provides trash and recycle bin cleaning and sanitizing services to Altoona, Ames, Ankeny, Bondurant, Clive, Des Moines, Granger, Grimes, Huxley, Johnston, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill, Polk City, Slater, Urbandale, Waukee, and West Des Moines, Iowa. How do I start my trash can cleaning service?

What happens if I forget to place my bin on the curb?
We ask you advise us before we begin our routes so we are able to update our routing schedule if we are not able to gain access to the bins. If the bins are outside and available meaning visible to the driver and we do not have to cross a fence or enter a structure such as a garage or shed, we will grab the bin and still complete the service. All customers will receive plenty of notifications via email and text the day prior as a reminder. Can Cleaners, LLC will not allow a refund for services not rendered based on the bins are full or not out. Can Cleaners needs to be notified in advance of arriving to cancel the service for that cleaning to avoid the charges. If contacted after we have arrived we do not back track on the route to get back out to the property.

How do I reschedule my cleaning when needed?
We understand life happens and on occasions you are not around for whatever reason. Please call 515-901-0664. If the service is forgotten, please reference the What happens if I forget to place my bin on the curb? FAQ.

What if I still have waste in the bin on my day of service?
Can Cleaners only performs service the day after the trash hauler pickup day of the week provided by the customer at the time of sign up for the service. In the event there is garbage in the bin Can Cleaners may remove the waste from the bin to perform the service. Determination of the amount of garbage and type that needs to be removed will determine if the service is performed. This determination will be up to the driver at the time they arrive and will make the determination to either remove the waste and complete the service or will skip the service. If skipped due to waste in the bin the customer will still be charged 100% for the service and not be allowed a reschedule. All garbage removed from the bin to perform the service will be placed back in the bin when completed. Can Cleaners is not a waste hauler and will not haul garbage away.

How much does the service costs?
Service costs vary with the frequency and the number of bins. Please visit our "SERVICES" section for details on pricing.

What time will my bins be cleaned?
Cleaning times will vary as a result of different factors including route size, weather conditions, equipment issues, traffic delays, etc. We ask you leave your bins available during our hours of operation. Monday - Friday 8AM - 7PM. Saturday 7AM - 5PM

Do you clean in the colder months?
Our services are open from March through November. Due to the hauling of water and how our systems are built, to avoid damaging the equipment we do not complete services in temperatures below 35°.

Why do you not complete the service on the same day as my trash pick-up?
We only provide the service the day after trash pickup to ensure the bins are completely empty when we arrive. We provide the best price possible with our efficient routes for customers which eliminates the need for us to be chasing waste haulers, driving around more than needed, or sitting idle while waiting for a hauler to empty the bins in your area.

Currently, due to the cold weather, we are not servicing customers any longer from 11/21/2024 – 2/28/25. We will begin servicing customers again in March of 2025.
